I am the artisan behind all the designs seen here and also the creator of this website. I am an independent artist currently living in Santa Fe, NM. I specialize in handcrafted stained glass and mosaic art. I have been making stained glass over 20 years. My work has been featured at numerous Colorado galleries, including Boulder, Littleton and Evergreen. Today I sell my art to local individuals and online all across the country.
MOSaIC ART + WOOD BOWLS
My latest creative love affair is wood bowl mosaics. I cannot stop thinking about them and making them. It started about a year ago when I was wanting to return to making mosaics, but I wanted a new medium other than the usual flat surface. One day I stumbled across an old rustic wood bowl in the garage and had a huge lightbulb moment -- what a great vessel for mosaics! I simply love the look of combining rustic with refined. I hunted down new supplies and today there is still no end in sight for the stream of ideas constantly filling my head.
My designs range from simple and whimsical to more refined and spiritual-inspired pieces. I like incorporating hand-cut stained glass tiles, my hand-made resin tiles, broken Mexican tiles and broken china (picassiette). Each piece is made with expert craftmanship with special attention to design and detail -- only achievable from many years of experience. I draw my inspiration from everywhere. . . nature and mountain landscapes, Southwestern art, published mosaic art, stained glass windows in churches, and my love of animals.
When not creating art, I work as an M.A. Intuitive Counselor in private practice. I also enjoy hiking in the Rocky Mountains, local skiing, cooking, researhing nutrition, playing with my precious Dachshunds, and all things angelic.
As for supplies, I have an addictive habit of adding to my collections of stained glass sheets, beads, crystals, broken china tiles and porcelain plates. I especially cherish my plate backstamp collection from around the world. Do I have too many? Am I running out of storage space? I need all of it to keep up with all the ideas I plan to get to, at least that's what I tell myself!
Check out some of my fav backstamps...
