Heartwings . . . a personal note
I first fell in love with stained glass art over 20 years ago when I was on a trip and stopped in a bookstore. I was instantly captivated by a beautiful stained glass heartwing piece hanging in the transom window. The way the light refracted off the iridized glass and cast a small rainbow of color on the wall was visually captivating and spiritually inspiring.
Shortly thereafter I took a local class to learn the basics and I've been creating ever since. In the early years I made large panels in both leaded and foil methods. In terms of art, I then ventured into jewelry making and intuitive painting. But I've always returned to stained glass, though now my interest is creating smaller pieces such as suncatchers. To this day, angelic heartwings like the one pictured above remain my all-time favorite to make.
